A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Mission Indradhanush among Adults (22-35 Years) in a Selected Rural Area Padappai

ABSTRACT Mission Indradhanush is a health mission of the government of India. It was launched by Union Health Minister J.P Nadda on 25th December 2014.The scheme seeks to drive towards 90% full immunization coverage of India and sustain the same by the year 2022. Mission Indradhanush is a special catch-up campaign under the universal immunization program, conducted in the areas of low immunization coverage to vaccinate all the children and pregnant women left out or dropped out from routine immunization. Mission Indradhanush phase I was started as a weekly special intensified immunization drive from 7th April 2015 in 201 high focus districts for 4 consecutive months. Research approach used for this study was Descriptive study.The area selected for the study was Padappai (primary health center).Men & women were the samples for this study.Simple random technique were adopted for the study. The result reveals that 11(55%) of them had inadequate knowledge about Mission Indradhanush, 9(45%) of them had moderate knowledge about Mission Indradhanush,0(0%) of them had adequate knowledge about Mission Indradhanush
