Author Name : Akash kumar, D. Visagaperumal, Vineeth Chandy
ABSTRACT
Chrozophpora rottleri is found in Africa, Central Asia, India, Pakistan, Australia, and Myanmar. In Indian vegetation, Chrozophora plicata is referred to as Chrozophora rottleri. The plant belongs to the family Euphorbiceae. The plant is upright and covered in silvery hairs; the bristly stem and leaf segments are exposed. February to August are prime months for development to begin. It first arises in February and blooms in June and July, and then entirely vanishes in late August. When a given amount of moisture is present, the plant which grows along the edges of rice fields, displays luxuriant growth. The plant has staggering array of chemical components as well as numerous pharmacological characteristics. The plant contains chemical constituents such as alkaloids, sugars, tannins, glycosides ,steroids, flavonoids and saponins. Chromone glycosides and xanthone glycosides content is high in the leaf and basic part of C. rottleri. Four substances arere identified through photochemical analysis, they are 1- octocosanol, lupeol, para hydroxyl benzoic acid and methyl gallate. The plant Chrozophora rottleri has pharmacological activities such as antibacterial, antioxidant, antinarcotics and anthelmintic.
