ABSTRACT This study examines the risk-return dynamics of chit funds and Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) with reference to Coimbatore City. The research aims to evaluate investment preferences, financial literacy, liquidity, flexibility, and regulatory frameworks affecting these investment options. Using a structured questionnaire and statistical analysis, the study highlights investor behaviour, risk perception, and return expectations. The findings reveal key differences in the risk-adjusted returns of chit funds and SIPs, offering insights into their viability for different investor profiles. The research underscores the significance of financial awareness and regulatory policies in shaping investment decisions. The study's conclusions provide valuable guidance for policymakers, investors, and financial institutions in enhancing financial inclusion and risk management strategies.
