A Study of Love in R.K. Narayan’s “The Bachelor Of Arts”

ABSTRACT

This Article explores the theme of R.K.Narayan’s writings and his treatment of love in his novels is defined by simplicity and cultural based. This paper aims at portraying Narayan’s study of love with its beauty and human nature. Though R.K.Narayan has taken up for treatment a different themes of love is said to be undeniably the two outstanding and repetitive themes projected in his fiction. Such a writers Ruskin Bond, KhushwantSingh and SudhaMurthyhave expressed the theme of love and strength to their fictions. Narayan’s college days love TheBachelor of Arts(1937). In this novel a study of love The Bachelor of Arts protagonist Chandran loves infatuated and his passion is being lover, his love on Malathi and life love theme is Narayan’s personal occurrence. The Bachelor of Arts novel depicted traditional base love, Narayan’s characterization was wonderful and reality in day to day life.
