Author Name : Vinutha P

ABSTRACT This study examines the livelihood of street vendors in Subrahmanya village, focusing on their economic activities, social conditions, and challenges. Street vending is a vital source of income for many residents, especially in a village known for its religious tourism centered around the famous Kukke Shri Subrahmanya Temple. The research investigates the types of goods and services offered, factors influencing the choice of street vending, seasonal variations in income, and the vendors' coping strategies. Through surveys, interviews, and field observations, the study identifies key issues such as lack of proper vending spaces, limited access to financial support, and regulatory challenges. It also highlights the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of the vendors, who adapt to the fluctuating demands of pilgrims and tourists. The findings suggest that supportive measures, including better infrastructure and policy interventions, are crucial for improving the livelihood security of street vendors in Subrahmanya village. The primary data for this study was collected through a structuredquestionnaire, ensuring a systematic approach to gathering consumer insights.Additionally, secondary data was obtained from credible sources, includingstandard textbooks, magazines, and online resources, to provide a well-roundedunderstanding of the subject.
