INTRODUCTION Human beings communicate in two ways- verbal and non-verbal. Facial expressions are a really important factor when it comes to non-verbal communication. This is because we humans have the capability of recognizing emotions and understanding them. A facial emotion recognition system is a very crucial component in human machine interaction. This is because we can apply the knowledge of identified emotions in various fields and valuable conclusions can be made. While it is widely used in human-machine interaction, it can also be used for patient monitoring and for studying the emotions of an individual suspected to have malicious motives. Human emotion recognition has an indispensable role in interpersonal relationships as well. You can judge a person’s emotions by their speech, hand and body movements and undoubtedly their facial expressions. We can also use emotion recognition system to analyze a customer’s reaction on seeing a particular product, advertisement, information etc
