A Study on Problems Faced by Landless Agricultural Laborers in Tiruchirappalli District of Tamil Nadu

Author Name : Dr. A. Gopalakrishnan

ABSTRACT

In India's rural structure, landless agricultural labourers are the most marginalized group. Their income is modest, and their employment is inconsistent. They have no other employment options since they lack the necessary skills and training. Although India has made significant progress since independence, this is one segment that is having a very difficult time and demands special attention." According to the 2001 Census, there were 106.7 million landless agricultural labourers. In 2011, this number grew to 144.3 million. In this context, the current study attempted to examine the primary issues confronting agricultural landless labourers in the Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu.
