ABSTRACT Background: Vaccination is a key public-health intervention for preventing vaccine-preventable diseases and reducing childhood morbidity and mortality. Parental knowledge can influence timely and complete immunization. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding vaccination benefits among parents of under-five children at Chak Bhalwal, Jammu. Methods: A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental, one-group pre-test–post-test design was used. Fifty parents were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured knowledge questionnaire comprising 20 multiple-choice items. A structured teaching programme was delivered after the pre-test, followed by a post-test. Descriptive statistics, a paired t-test and chi-square tests were used for analysis.
