AI in Securing Government Data Privacy: Evaluating How AI Can Protect Sensitive Government Data from Breaches While Complying with Privacy Regulations.

Author Name : Romayne Maria Cachart

ABSTRACT Data protection has become a sensitive issue for any government in the digitized world, as it can easily compromise various facets of national security, public trust, and citizen privacy. Artificial Intelligence is considered a promising solution to help governments improve their traditional cybersecurity strategies for data protection. This article examines how artificial intelligence might be applied toward preventing sensitive government data from being breached with full consideration for privacy laws. The article goes further to describe how AI can be utilized for both proactive and reactive measures while defending the systems of a government in its threat detection and response automation, anomaly identification, and legality observation. Additionally, it analyzes a case study of the cyber-attack on Georgia in 2024 and the practical utility of AI in mitigating risks with enhanced data privacy in governmental systems.
