An Analysis of Horticulture Crops in Mangalore Taluk: A Geographical Study

ABSTRACT Hortus is Latin for ‘’garden’’, and the first garden were planted about 10000 year ago in what is often called the fertile crescent-the –shaped area stretching from Israel north through Syria and down to Iraq’s two great rivers to the Persian gulf. Probably most fertile in previous centuries than it is today, it was original home of such food plants as wheat, barley, peas, and lentil or their ancient ancestors. Many horticulturists today work as researches or plant breeders or tend orchards and greenhouse-but most Americanhouseholdscontain at least one amateur horticulturist. Secondary date were taken for the analysis of horticulture of the study region. In this study has attempt to analyses the horticulture crops in the Mangalore taluk. And To know the how geographical factors ply role on horticulture crops.The review as under principally deals with agriculture and horticulture, fruits and vegetable cropping, cooperatives and cooperative marketing, HOPCOMS and similar organizations at work, and all processes relating to post-harvest and marketing in fruits and vegetables, including marketing and new technologies.Agriculture and horticulture, especially developments in the two, including some historical and latest events. Cropping patterns particularly in horticulture are an important aspect as well as for appreciating the role of horticulture in cropping, production, and marketing.The second part deals with fruits and vegetables as they are our focus in this research but in much the same way as we have treated agriculture and horticulture. All other related aspects of research on organized and cooperative retailing are discussed in the last part of this.
