The concept of the discipline "Defence and Strategic Studies" acknowledges the importance of the education of this discipline in the establishment of the values of secularism, respect for democratic traditions, civil liberties, and the pursuit of justice. It is designed to equip citizens with the requisite knowledge, skills, and values to establish a society that is progressive, just, and defensive. The armed forces, their tradition, honesty, morale, uniforms, weapons, equipment, training, logistic support, and military leadership are all integral to the strength of national defence.
