An Ayurvedic Perspective on Pediatric Behavioral Disorders with Special Emphasis on Shirodhara
Author Name : Dr. Nitin Ramchandra Waghmare, Dr. Mangal Girish Patil, Dr. Ulka Ashok Sangalage
ABSTRACT Pediatric behavioral disorders are increasingly prevalent in modern society due to changing lifestyles, academic stress, altered parenting patterns, and excessive exposure to digital media. These conditions commonly manifest as hyperactivity, irritability, anxiety, sleep disturbances, emotional instability, and impaired cognitive functions. Ayurveda describes such behavioral and psychological disturbances under the involvement of Manovaha Srotas, with predominance of Raja and Tama Dosha, along with imbalance of Vata Dosha. Classical texts emphasize a holistic approach comprising Daivavyapashraya, Sattvavajaya, and Yuktivyapashraya Chikitsa for the management of Manasika Vikara in children.
