ABSTRACT Pregnancy is a natural and biological process, due to these some physiological, hormonal and metabolic changes occurs naturally in mother’s body to support the development and growth of a fetus.Kikkisa is a distinct dermatological condition that manifests typically during the second trimester or the seventh month of gestation.It primarily affects the skin of the abdomen, breasts and groin region. Garbhinikikkisa occurs due to aggravation of vata, pitta, kaphadoshasand producevidaha(burning sensation), kandu(itching) followed by vaivarnyaresults in charmvidaran.In modern science, kikkisa can be correlated with striae gravidarum commonly known as “stretch marks”.
