An Empirical Research Analysis on Effect of Literacy Level towards the Education and Safety of Girl Child in the Remote Villages of Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu, India

ABSTRACT “Education is the most powerful weapon which will change the world” said by Nelson Mandela Former President of South Africa. The purpose of this research is to understand the importance of girl child education and provide literacy awareness both on education and safety to the girl child. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said that “if you educate a man you educate an individual, however, if you educate a woman you educate a whole family” according to this golden words if the girl child is educated, she would recognize her rights in society and she could become confident enough to put her opinion in front of the family members, society and to all the social evils. Girl’s literacy is like sowing the seed in the wetland which gives rise to a revitalised, cheerful and full grown family plant. The theme “BetiBachaoBetiPadhao Save the Girl child, Educate the Girl Child” was launched on 22 January 2015 by Prime Minister NarendraModi .The predominant notion of the research is to provide literacy awareness to the girl child both education and safety. The research work is planned to carry forward on Arumbakkam, Mamandu, MoraiPullarambakm, and Rangapuram Villages in Tiruvallur District Tamil Nadu India. Lack of education denies the girl child, her ability, her skills, her knowledge, her independent status in the society. Educating the girl child will empower her to realise her potentiality, to think, question and judge independently. This study will enhance the literacy level empowers the Girl Child in villages of Tiruvallur District in Tamil Nadu India.
