An Enhanced Deep Learning-Based Intrusion Detection System Leveraging LSTM-AE and CNN-LSTM Hybrid Models

ABSTRACT With cyber-attacks becoming more sophisticated, traditional intrusion detection methods are inadequate. Deep learning presents a promising solution, but comprehensive evaluation across datasets is lacking. This study introduces a novel LSTM-AE hybrid model for intrusion detection. The aims to develop an effective IDS using deep learning, assessing its performance across publicly available datasets like CICIDS2017 and CSE-CICDIS2018 to identify optimal algorithms for future cyber-attacks.
