An Insight Review on Tamaka Shwasa: Bronchial Asthma

ABSTRACT Tamaka shwasa is one of the among five type of disease shwas. and tamak shwas is Swatantra vyadhi. it is mentioned as yapya vyadhi i.e chronic in nature and having its own etiology, pathology and management. Acharya Chark mentioned shwas ashivish like pranhar and paramdurjya vyadhi. therefore, its early management is neccessory. In Tamakshwas the prominent dosha mentioned in Ayurvedic text like Charak samhita, sushrut Samhita, astang hridaya etc Are vata and kapha and shwasa is orginated from site of pitta. Today life is running so people can not follow dincharya and ritucharya which has been described in text and therefore patient with chronic airway disorder like tamak shwas are increasing. The prevalence of asthma has increased markedly over the past 30 year in developed countries approx 10-12% of adult and 15%children have asthmatic .According to GINA report 2024 asthma affected an estimated 260 million people and is responsible for over 450000 death each year worldwide.Adult are 6 times more likely to die from asthma than children.female adult are more likely to die from astma than male adult.world asthma day is a global healthcare event commemorated every year on the 1st Tuesday in May to promate awaewness of astma worldwide.
