Analysis and Research on Improving Real-time Performance of Linux Kernel

ABSTRACT:   With the widespread application of Linux operating system in embedded system, it is an important problem to effectively improve the real-time performance of Linux. In this paper, we analyze the real-time problems of Linux kernel. To solve these problems, we put forward a series of methods to improve the real-time performance of Linux, such as dual-kernel methods, interrupt mechanism, clock granularity and real-time scheduling algorithms. After testing, the real-time performance of Linux has been greatly improved, which can satisfy the requirement of real-time embedded system.
