ABSTRACT The emergence of online trading platforms has profoundly transformed the way people interact with the stock market, providing a broader array of investment opportunities for a more diverse group of participants. These technologies have significantly lowered entry barriers by eliminating the need for conventional brokerage firms, cutting down transaction costs, and offering immediate access to market information. This paper examines the essential aspects of online trading applications, their benefits, and the possible risks associated with them, while evaluating their effects on investor behaviour and the traits of financial markets. Furthermore, the study looks into how these platforms enhance financial literacy and promote engagement in the stock market, especially for younger and novice investors. However, it also raises issues related to increased risk-taking, spontaneous trading behaviour, and market instability. By employing empirical data and academic research, this paper offers a com prehensive analysis of the impact of online trading apps on retail investors and overall market dynamics. The findings reveal that while these applications provide greater market access, they also introduce behavioural and regulatory challenges that require supervision and educational efforts to ensure sustainable mar ket participation.
