Armed Conflict And Human Rights Violations: With Reference To The Russia And Ukaine

Author Name : Saloni Jain, Dr. Varinder Kaur

ABSTRACT

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine raises critical questions concerning the fundamental foundations of international law. The key issues are the efficacy of the existing legal system, as well as integrity of the country as well as the right to self-determination. Because the political upheaval has culminated in a military clash, hybrid conflict and occupation norms are being considered as well. The current geopolitical environment appears to have culminated in a weakening of international law standards and a greater exposure of the UN's flaws, according to some. Despite its shortcomings and limitations, international law presents the global community with realistic choices for resolving not only the mentioned challenges, but also others.

Keywords: Russia-Ukraine, Crimea, UN, Minsk Treaty, European Union, and Armed Conflict.
