Bedtime Procrastination, Achievement Anxiety and Personality Traits among college students
Author Name : Manasa M, Sarah Saju Stephen
ABSTRACT : This dissertation investigates the relationship between achievement anxiety, personality traits, and bedtime procrastination among college students. The aim of the research is to uncover potential relations and influences among these variables, providing insights into student well-being and academic success. A quantitative research approach and correlational design were employed, analyzing data from a sample of 202 college students in Bengaluru, India, using established measurement tools such as the Bedtime Procrastination Scale, Achievement Anxiety Scale, and Big Five Inventory. Results indicated a lack of significant relationship between achievement anxiety and bedtime procrastination, but a negative correlation was found between bedtime procrastination and extraversion. Positive correlations were observed between facilitating anxiety and openness, as well as facilitating anxiety with agreeableness and conscientiousness. Regression analysis revealed no significant influence of personality traits or achievement anxiety on bedtime procrastination. These findings contribute to our understanding of procrastination behaviors and highlight the importance of considering individual differences in addressing student well-being.
