ABSTRACT As the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) accelerates, ensuring the safety, performance, andlongevity of their critical components—especially the battery—becomes increasingly vital. A Battery Management System (BMS) is essential for overseeing the health and charging cycles of EV batteries, but with the growing complexity of modern vehicles, traditional BMS approaches are no longer sufficient. This paper presents an innovative Battery Management System that integrates real-time charge monitoring and advanced fire protection through the power of the Internet of Things (IoT). By leveraging IoT sensors and cloud-based analytics, the proposed provides continuous, remote monitoring of battery health, charge status, temperature, and potential fire hazards The IoT-enabled BMS incorporates intelligent algorithms that analyze real-time data, predicting potential issues such as overcharging, thermal runaway, or voltage imbalances, and triggering immediate corrective actions. Additionally, the fire protection module utilizes IoT-connected thermal sensors and automated emergency protocols to detect overheating, abnormal battery behavior, or imminent fire risks, activating cooling systems or shutdown procedures to prevent catastrophic failures. The system also enables remote diagnostics, providing fleet operators or\ individual users with access to detailed insights on battery performance and safety in real-time, enhancing proactive maintenance and risk management.
