ABSTRACT Breast cancer is most persistently diagnosed disease in the women worldwide with more than 20 lakh new cases in these years. Due to cancer detection and change in risk factor profiles its occurrence and death rates have increased over the last three decades. The number of risk factors involves both modifiable and non modifiable factors such as aging, history of breast cancer in the family, specific changes in breasts, gene changes, menopause, lack of physical activity, alcohol consumption, obesity, nutrition etc. Breast cancer is most prevalent and malignant disease. In this article, require information gather together with the help of literature review this disease affects all physical mental and social aspect of patient life. It is observed that the exact etiology of breast cancer is unknown. Mostly about 80% women with breast cancer have age greater than 50. Treatment of breast cancer includes surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy or biological therapy.
