Breast Cancer Detection with Mammography and CAD
Author Name : Md Altab Uddin Molla
ABSTRACT
Compared to other imaging methods, mammography is a provenmethod for early breast cancer detection. Mammography aids in the early diagnosis of breast abnormalities before they pose a hazard to human life. Nevertheless, there are errors in how the radiologists interpret and read the mammograms. as well as variations in their internal and external observations. Initially employed in breast cancer screening to prevent missing prospective cancer cases, computer-aided detection (CAD) has been proven to be successful in numerous trials. It can also be applied to double reading. It can cut down on pointless biopsies and cases of missed detection that could otherwise be fatal. This study compares the outcomes of thermography and mammography in depth and focuses on the comparison of two imaging modalities. An experimental investigation is carried out vii to determine the accuracy of thermography in identifying normal thermograms from irregular ones and then classifying irregular thermograms into benevolent and malignant thermograms in comparison to mammography. In order to avoidable biopsies in situations of benevolent breast cancer [7] and to detect initial cases of breast cancer, the thermography technique is very helpful.
