Brothers, Sisters and Cousins: A Case Study of Some of Austen‟s Novels

ABSTRACT: The novels of Jane Austen abound in loving sisters and brothers. We have sisters like jane and Elizabeth, Eliner and Marianns, who are not only most affectionate but also a source of comfort to each other. We also have the Bingley sisters, who though not the pleasant companions Jane Bennet makes them sound, are quite amiable to each other. We shall through a thorough reading endeavor to find out more about the relationships between brothers, sisters and cousins in a natural world where each loves or detests the other.
