Commercial Cultivation of Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) production in Paschim Medinipur district, West Bengal

ABSTRACT
Nowadays, small farmers make significantly less money growing crops like wheat and rice. As a result, many farmers are gravitating toward growing fruits and vegetables. Strawberry cultivation is increasing in our country. In India, strawberry farming is expanding. This strawberry growing has also become popular among farmers in West Bengal. Additionally, he has begun to turn a profit. It is possible to effectively cultivate economic strawberries (Fragaria x. ananassa Duch.) in such a wide range of environments, spanning moderate and temperate environments. However, the majority of present output is restricted to areas that are classified as temperate or subtropical and lie between 28-and 600 north latitudes. Temperatures in these regions vary from 15 to 30 degrees Celsius on average during the middle of summer in June, with typical summer highs ranging from 38 to 42 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in the middle of winter in December vary from 10 to -15 degrees Celsius on average, with mean lows ranging from 10 to 18 degrees Celsius. In this paper, we discuss how strawberry cultivation is possible between November and March in this climate. Treatment combination used in this procedure used: T0 - Laterite soil + chemical fertilizer (Recommended use of chemical fertilizer), T2 -Fly ash + Vermicompost, T3 - Laterite soil + Fly ash. pH, EC, C, N, available P, and available K were all measured in the soil.
