Comparative Analysis of Transition dependency parser and Graph dependency parser Techniques on Telugu Treebank
Author Name : G. Nagaraju, M. Srinivas
ABSTRACT The Depending parsing is one of the main tasks in Natural Language Processing (NLP), which represents the syntactic connectionsamong words within a sentence with the objective to analyse the grammatical structure of sentences. Two widely used methods for this task are graph-based and transition-based dependency parsers. This research paper presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of these two parsing techniques and methodologies used for constructing dependency trees. The parser's performance is evaluated on the Telugu treebank. Among these two parsers, the graph-based parser outperforms the transition-based dependency parser. This paper also describes the various methods of transition-based parser and the performance of each method. This paper serves as a valuable resource for NLP researchers, and enthusiasts seeking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the comparative strengths and weaknesses of transition dependency parser and graph dependency parser.
