Comparative Study of Bio Fertilizer and Chemical Fertilizer on Solanum Lycopersicum L. (Tomato)
Author Name : Pallavi Shukla, Dr. Madhu Prakash Srivastava, Dr. Kanchan Awasthi, Dr. Neeraj Jain
This experiment was conducted during winter season of 2022-23, (Dec-March)in botany lab of Maharishi University of Information Technology to study the comparative effect of bio fertilizers (Aminoz, Phosphate rich bio fertilizer and mycorrhizal bio fertilizer ) and chemical fertilizer(Calcium Nitrate) in different concentration on growth and yield attributes of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Significant differences was found for plant height stem diameter, number of branches, fruits per plant and yield while plant height, days to first harvest , days to final harvest. Maximum plant height (64.5cm) at final harvest was observed with treatment Phosphate rich biofertilizer (0.054 gm). The use of organic fertilization could promote sustainable agricultural production. By examining their impact on tomato yield and soil physico-chemical parameters, the three biofertilizers and one chemical fertiliser were to be evaluated for their efficacy. The results showed that chemical fertilizer applied to tomato plants reduces the soil quality while biofertilizers helped to preserve the soil's pH neutrality and greatly increased its C, N, P, and K content.
Keywords: Bio fertilizer, chemical fertilizer, growth, yield tomato.
