ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to know about the advancement and to contribute in developing a sustainable concrete known as self healing concrete. Though there are many ways to produce self healing concrete but we will stick to the only bacteria (Bacillus Subtilis) based self healing concrete. In our research we will try to compare some of the physical properties of the conventional and bacteria based self healing concrete. There are many researches done to show how effective is bacteria based self healing concrete and several studies got promising conclusions that the bacteria used i.e Bacillus Subtilies uses water which enters into the cracks of the concrete to form calcite which fills the shallow cracks easily preventing further increase in the crack or corrosion in the reinforcement. When cracks heal water stops entering and thus bacteria again goes in to dormant state this overall increases the life of the concrete and thus the building. Many researches also showed that there is significant improvement in the physical properties of concrete by using these bacteria.
