Compare and Contrast the Novels “A Passage to India” And “Heart of Darkness” In Terms of the Role of Imperialism
Author Name : Tasnim Ahmed
ABSTRACT
"Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad and "A Passage to India" by E.M. Forster are two eminent works of innovator writing that investigate the subjects of imperialism particularly. Both novels are set within the setting of the British Domain within the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and both look at the control flow between colonizers and colonized individuals. Be that as it may, there are too critical differences between the two books. “Heart of Darkness" may be a much darker and more critical work, whereas "A Passage to India" is more confident in its viewpoint. Conrad's novel depicts a world in which the colonizers have misplaced their ethical compass and are devoured by ravenousness and brutality, whereas Forster's novel proposes that social understanding and regard can overcome the obstructions of race and colonialism.
