Cross-Functional Collaboration in BI: Strengthening Teamwork to Maximize Business Intelligence Effectiveness
Author Name : Sundarrajan Ramalingam, Dr Rupesh Kumar Mishra
ABSTRACT In today’s dynamic and data-driven business environment, the ability to leverage Business Intelligence (BI) to inform strategic decisions is critical for success. However, organizations often face challenges in maximizing the potential of BI initiatives due to silos between various departments, teams, and functional areas. Cross-functional collaboration in Business Intelligence is an essential approach to break down these barriers and unlock the full value of BI systems. This research paper explores the importance of fostering effective collaboration and communication across different departments and teams in order to enhance the outcomes of BI projects. The paper delves into the benefits of cross-functional collaboration, which include more holistic data analysis, improved decision-making, and increased alignment between business strategies and operational execution. By encouraging diverse perspectives, cross-functional teams bring a deeper understanding of the data context and lead to more comprehensive insights. The study also highlights the challenges that organizations face in achieving this collaboration, including cultural resistance, differing objectives, lack of shared tools, and inconsistent data governance practices.
