Cultural and Political Scenario: India-Bangladesh Relations

India’s rich Cultural heritage, Indian word for culture is from time immemorial, Indians have human culture. It has a universal appeal the principle of ‘unity in diversity’ is the implicit law of nature universe and life. People belonging to diverse communities, speaking different languages, having different food, customs harmoniously co-exist in India. The soul of cultural heritage of India lies in the fact that it’s an All-embracing confluence of religions, traditions, customs and beliefs. Arts, architecture, painting, music, dance, festivals have developed in India. The cultural heritage of India still flourishes maintaining its original features along with changes, a key Indicator of its strengths. India’s Intangible cultural heritage flows from her 5000yrs old culture and civilization. Indian culture is the heritage of social norms ethical values, traditional customs, belief-faith, political systems, that originated in or are associated with the ethno-linguistically diverse India. The term also applies beyond India to countries and cultures whose histories are strongly connected to India by immigration, colonization or influence, particularly in South-Asia and South East Asia. India’s languages, religions, dance, music, architecture, food and customs differ from place to place within the country. India was one of the first countries to recognize Bangladesh and establish diplomatic relations immediately after its independence in december1971. Bangladesh and India are common members of SAARC, BIMSTEC, IORA, Common Wealth. The two countries share many cultures ties.
Historically, India’s has played a critical role in the creation of Bangladesh. India’s political, diplomatic, military and Humanitarian support during Bangladesh’s liberation war played an important role towards Bangladesh’s independence. The recent events highlight a deeper understanding on both sides of the India Bangladesh relationship. How ever there are few challenges that need to be resolved for a win-win relationship.
