Cultural Hybridity and Cultural Clashes: A Study of Culturalism in Kiran Desai’s Novels

ABSTRACT Culture theory is the branch of comparative anthropology and semiotics that explains the linear concept of social culture in naturalistic and traditional terms. In the 19th century, “culture” was proposed by some to refer to a wide range of social and cultural interventions, and by some others as a meaning for development. In the 20th century, Anthropologists began studying about culture as a term of traditional approach. Some used it to explain social strategies from the familiar instinctive strategies of animals, including the attitudes of other human and non-human beings, whereas others used it to clear the ideal creations and feelings of social expectations, with no direct attachment towards life. Both aspects understood culture as being clearly express traditional human nature.
