Customer Walk-ins and Incidence of Conversion at Retail Stores: A study of retail outlets in shopping malls

Author Name : Dr. Nidhi Turan

ABSTRACT The present study of retail stores in shopping malls is based on primary survey of store owners. The survey shows that the highest percentage of retail stores was in single brand business and apparel products were dominating the scene. Majority of stores were having average sales force of 4-6 persons, including the owner, at a time. The malls are becoming popular as majority of the retails shops have more than 75 walk-ins per day. The conversion rate of more than 40 percent in case of 45 percent retailers is impressive. This is notwithstanding the fact that there are hardly any loyalty programmes like CRM in the case of the majority of the retail stores. It is felt that if the loyalty programmes are introduced in a larger measure by the retailers, the conversion rate and loyalty of the customers will increase.
