Development and validation of Two UV Spectrophotometric methods for simultaneous estimation of Nystatin and Triamcinolone acetonide in synthetic mixture

Author Name : Patel Ankita Dipak, Mrs. Madhuri Hinge

ABSTRACT

To simple, precise, rapid and economic spectrophotometric methods have been developed for simultaneous determination of Nystatin (NYS) and Triamcinolone acetonide (TCA) synthetic mixture. Method (1) based on Absorbance ratio Method (2) depends on First order derivative spectroscopic method. In Method (1), involve formation of the absorbance equation using the respective absorptivity values at 265 nm (isoabsorptive point) and 235 nm (λ max of TCA). Method (2) The first-order derivative absorption at 234 nm (zero crossing point of TCA) was used for quantification of NYS and 253.36 nm (zero crossing point of NYS) for quantification of TCA. The drugs obey Beer’s Lambert’s law in the concentration range of 5–55 and 1–25 μg/ml for NYS and TCA respectively (for Method I) and in the range of 23–69 and 1-3 μg/ml for NYS and TCA, respectively (for Method II). The accuracy and precision was determined and recovery studies confirmed the accuracy of the developed methods that was carried out following the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
