ABSRACT Bioactive substances like sulfur derivatives and allicin, which are found in garlic (Allium sativum L.), have important pharmacological characteristics. To effectively collect these ingredients, a variety of sophisticated extraction procedures are used. Continuous solvent reflux is used in Soxhlet extraction to fully extract thermally stable chemicals. Through acoustic cavitation, ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) improves mass transfer while using less solvent and time. Supercritical CO₂ is used in supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) to produce pure extracts free of harmful contaminants. Elevated temperature and pressure are used in pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) to increase solubility and diffusion rates. By quickly heating the solvent and plant matrix, microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) improves extraction efficiency. Depending on the circumstances of the process, each method maximizes the production, purity, and bioactivity of garlic extracts
