Different Techniques to Remove Blind Spot Due To ‘A’ Pillar
Author Name : Ashik S, Arun J John, Aswin James, Shalini S, Asst. Prof Akhil S
ABSTRACT
In vehicle transport driver visibility is the maximum distance at which the driver of a vehicle can see and identify objects around the vehicle. Visibility is primarily determined by weather condition and by a vehicle design. The parts of a vehicle that influence visibility includes windshield, dashboard and pillars. Good driver visibility is essential for safe road traffic. A blind spot in a vehicle is an area around the vehicle that cannot be directly observed by the driver while at the control under existing circumstances. Blind spot exists in wide range of vehicles: cars, trucks etc. Blind spot may occur in the front of driver when the A pillar (also called the wind shield pillar), side view mirror and interior rear-view mirror block a drivers view of the road. ‘A’ pillar directly hides the driver’s vision which may leads to road accidents, especially while taking sharp curves. The project aims at making visibility through ‘A’ pillar so that driver could see what is happening on the road.
