Divine Dialogues: Unveiling the Spiritual Synergy between Bhagavad Gita and Tagore's Gitanjali
Author Name : Dr. Anupamratanshanker Nagar
ABSTRACT : This research paper explores the profound parallels between the Bhagavad Gita and Rabindranath Tagore's “Gitanjali”, two iconic works in Indian literature that delve deeply into spiritual and philosophical themes. The Bhagavad Gita, part of the Mahabharata, presents a dialogue between Prince Arjuna and Lord Krishna, addressing existential and ethical dilemmas. In contrast, “Gitanjali” is a collection of Tagore's devotional poems reflecting his intimate spiritual experiences. Despite their different genres and contexts, both texts converge on key themes such as the nature of the self, the role of God, and the path to spiritual fulfillment. By examining specific verses and poems, this paper highlights how both works advocate for the recognition of the soul's immortality, reverence for the divine, and the pursuit of selfless action and devotion as means to achieve spiritual enlightenment. These timeless messages continue to resonate, offering guidance and inspiration for contemporary spiritual seekers.
