ABSTRACT Railways are the importance means of Transportation both for the passengers and Goods. Trains are supposed to be the safest means for travelling for lower classes specially when the distance is huge. In india, Railways runs trains of different class of expenses and passengers having the railway track of about 122000 kms all over the country. There are several trains catering the millions of passengers and million tonnes of freight. There are thousands of trains running every day and there is a possibility of collisions of trains. DSP based collision avoidance system is based on frequency detection using DSP to keep track the approaching train on the same track. While the trains are on the move, it detects the train approaching on the same track at a distance of about 4 kms so that the collision can be avoided
