ABSTRACT Artificial Intelligence is effectuating paradigm shift in all possible ambit of knowledge since recent past. Research, being a fundamental source of knowledge is adapting this new innovative approach in all its’ constituent parts i.e. Research Paradigm, Epistemology, Methodology and practice. This paper is a qualitative study tends to explore the usage of Artificial Intelligence in educational research domain that is already in operation and the futuristic scope of AI’s intervention. This paper provides the all possible details of how AI is leading 21st century’s’ epistemological perception among researchers to initiate transformation in methodological approaches like Literature Review, Data collecting , plagiarism checking and in providing insightful suggestion for academic writing with the help of numerous intelligent tools. All social science research paradigms were discussed with the mention of their functional unit and how Educational research got influenced by the research paradigms. The Researchers in this study elaborately described how each functional component of research paradigm can be impacted by the use of artificial intelligence. In this paper the researchers provided name of some most frequently used AI tools and software by the researchers worldwide. This paper also focused on the possible adverse impact with notes on Ethical consideration regarding usage of Artificial Intelligence while doing educational research.
