Effect of Focused Shockwave Therapy on Patellar Tendinopathy: Case Report

Patellar Tendinopathy that is also known as the Jumper’s knee is a musculoskeletal disease with the hallmark of anterior knee pain and pain over the patellar tendon in the side of affected knee, this disease is very common and the prominent one in the athletes, there have been various conservative treatment that were followed and are still followed to treat this disorder including the knee rehabilitation protocol and the surgical protocol to correct the tendinopathy which is usually followed by the physiotherapy only. This study done mainly have the focus on the effect of Focused Shockwave Therapy along with rehabilitation protocol to reduce the severity of pain in the patient as well as it also helps to reduce the disability caused in the patient after suffering from the patellar tendinitis, that is been corrected by the surgical correction known as the anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. As after the surgery the patient remain immobilized decreasing the range of motion and zero-degree of freedom in the patient’s knee, that needs the physiotherapy intervention to make it normal. So, hereFocused Shockwave Therapy is used while exercise interventions to provide speedy and better recovery to the patient and the results are recorded.
