Effect of Homoeopathic Treatment on Hypothyroidism: A Case Series
Author Name : Dr. Pooja N. Sojitra, Dr. Jigna Nimavat
ABSTRACT Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder producing varied physical and psychological manifestations. This case series documents five cases of hypothyroidism managed with individualized homoeopathic treatment based on the totality of characteristic symptoms. Patients presented with elevated TSH levels along with symptoms such as menstrual irregularities, fatigue, weight gain, constipation, neck swelling, hoarseness of voice, and associated mental generals including anxiety, grief, irritability, and emotional sensitivity. Remedies were selected through detailed case taking and repertorial analysis, and included Calcarea carbonica, Pulsatilla, and Natrum muriaticum. Clinical response was assessed by symptomatic improvement, and thyroid function tests. All cases showed marked improvement in subjective symptoms and normalization or significant reduction of serum TSH levels, without adverse effects. This case series suggests the potential role of individualized homoeopathic treatment in the management of hypothyroidism.
