Effect of Maze Activities in Enhancing Attention and Academic Performance among Children with ADHD

ABSTRACT
Maze activity is a collection of path puzzle with twist and turns, typically from a start to goal.The aim of the study is to find out the effect of Maze activities in enhancing attention and academic performance among children with ADHD.The study was done among children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the age group of 4 to 8 years. Totally 30 children were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria in this study, and divided into two groups. 15 children for control group and 15 for experimental group. The Control group underwent Conventional Occupational Therapy intervention sessions regularly. At the same time the Experimental group underwent maze activities program along with regular occupational therapy intervention for 3 months. The pre and post- tests were evaluated by Vanderbilt ADHD Teacher Rating Scale. The outcomes of the post-tests were investigated. The results showed that there was a highly significant improvement in the experimental group than the control group after the intervention of Maze activities.From this study it is concluded that the maze activities were more effective in improving Attention and Academic performance in ADHD children
