ABSTRACT : Elections play a fundamental role in democratic governance because it is the best way to establish Universal Adult Franchise. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is a political party in India which was founded and formed for the benefit of people. It came into power to help the Aam Aadmi which is the general public to get all the amenities and services which they are entitled to. Through this political party, the general public has got their rights and services like improving education, healthcare etc. This research paper will show how a relatively new anti-corruption political party in India, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), defeated the two national parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress Party, in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi assembly elections. The Indian National Congress (INC), which ruled Delhi for fifteen years, was unable to establish a presence in these elections. Despite Modi's stronghold at the Centre, the BJP's communal politics failed to capitalize on the Delhi struggle. After putting an end to hate politics, AAP's unexpected triumph in the Delhi Assembly established the presence of development and good governance politics. Despite repeated appeals to voters to adopt the parties' development programmes, the Delhi poll results signified a shift in electoral politics that might help other parties gain momentum across the country. The focus of the paper will be to comparatively analyze the victory of AAP in 2015 and 2020 Delhi assembly elections and to discuss in detail the ideology and the factors responsible for the winning of AAP.
