Experimental investigation of FSE-Friction stir Extrusion Process Parameters

Author Name : Rutvik S. Suthar, Dr. Kaushal H. Bhavsar

ABSTRACT

The friction stir extrusion had been less known process for product development. It is one of the green technology helping nonferrous material product development. In the investigation of some research paper regarding Friction Stir Extrusion. The non-consumable tool, with a profiled probe and shoulder, is rotated and plunged into the interface between two workpieces Extrusion is a metal forming process in which metal or workpiece is forced to flow through a die to reduce its cross-section or convert it into the desired shape Based on friction-stir-welding principles, in which the rotation of a tool generates heat and softens the workpiece to create a weld, friction-stir extrusion technology uses a rotating rod, which stirs the material in a container and forces it between the rod and hollow die.

The milling machine MS die and AA6061 Material and EN31 tool materials are using for investing Investigating effect of rpm(speed) and depth of plunge on profile developed by friction stir extrusion and to some microstructure for workpiece and check his microstructure and micro hardness.

Key words: FSE, Friction Extrusion milling, die design, micro and macro structure.
