Fall Detection for Elderly People in Old Age Homes using Yolo with Voice Feedback

ABSTRACT Fall detection is a crucial area of research in healthcare, especially for elderly individuals and individuals with disabilities. Accidents due to falls can lead to severe health complications if immediate assistance is not provided. This paper presents a real-time fall detection system utilizing YOLO (You Only Look Once) v10 for object detection. The system integrates Twilio API for sending automated SMS alerts and making emergency calls upon detecting a fall. The presented work has three steps, first Video Processing & Object Detection.The proposed solution ensures high detection accuracy and rapid response, thereby minimizing the risks associated with falls. By leveraging advanced deep learning techniques, the system achieves a balance between computational efficiency and detection reliability. Compared to conventional wearable sensor-based methods, our approach provides a non-intrusive, real-time monitoring solution that can function in diverse environments, ensuring enhanced patient safety and rapid emergency response.
