ABSTRACT Family is the first group with which an individual comes into contact and which gives him the building blocks for the future life. Family relationship is based on the acknowledgment and execution of relationship determined from descent and marriage. Each individual in every society is a kinfolk and has kin. This paper primarily focused on a clear investigation of structure of family and connection of Gadaba. The show think about is an ethnographic consider on Gadaba tribe of Koraput district of Odisha, one of the Primitive tribe. The prime objective of the ponder is to know the types, forms, function of Gadaba family and to understand kinship terminology, role of kin individuals inside the family and exterior the family. The methodology is followed in this study purely ethnographic. Field worker has gone through quality time with the community and followed interview, case consider and so perception through coordinate and circuitous ways to know approximately themselves. The ponder concluded that Gadaba families are patrilocal, patriarchal in nature. The nuclear types of family are popular rather than joint and extended family. The descent group includes clan, lineage, their terminology changed due to effect of modernization and industrialization.
