Flexible Gingival Prosthesis – A Clinical Approach Restoring Severe Gingival Loss in the Anterior Esthetic Zone

ABSTRACT An attractive smile dramatically improves patients self image, which shows beautiful, natural teeth surrounded by gingival tissue. The restoration of missing teeth and its surrounding tissues is one of the most appreciated and gratifying services a prosthodontist can render. Gingival tissue loss is a common sequel of advanced periodontal disease in the anterior region often leading to esthetic and functional deficiency. This case report illustrates the novel and simplified clinical approach in the fabrication of flexible gingival prosthesis for severe gingival loss in the anterior esthetic zone following advanced periodontal disease.
