Flexural Strength of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete

ABSTRACT
Fibers are widely used in concrete to improve its ductility. Many researchers have carried out the research by using different types of fibers. Several reports of investigations have appeared describing the improvement in strength under compression, tension, bending and bond of concrete when fiber is includes. The investigation reported in this paper is aimed at studying the behavior of steel fiber reinforced concrete beam under flexure. The tests conducted on rectangular beams under various combinations of loads. The observed failure modes helped to modify the strength equation developed for presence of flexural force. The results of tests are comparing with the theoretical predictions. A good agreement between the theory and experiment has been observed.
