ABSTRACT Forensic chemistry plays a critical role in the criminal justice system by providing scientifically justified transformation through the analysis of the physical evidence, such as explosives, drugs, poisons present on the crime scene. Its roots lie in methodological investigation. Some important techniques involve Spectroscopy, chromatographic, microscopic, thermal analysis and advanced hyphenated methods. The pandemic affected cyber security, as businesses were forced to rapidly move to remote work environments. Cyber criminals took advantage of network misalignment's and security gaps as these transitions happened. Covid-19 clearly impacted the number of hourly victims. In the modern technological world criminals are way smarter and have information and technology on their fingertips. To bring the guilty to justice, forensic science has two major branches, forensic chemistry and digital forensics. While Digital forensic science focuses on the recovery and investigation of material found in digital devices related to cybercrime. With the increasing use of technology in criminal activities, digital forensics plays a crucial role in law enforcement by providing investigators with the tools and strategies necessary to collect, analyze, and preserve digital evidence. This objective of this review article is to bring to notice the various advancements in both forensic chemistry and digital forensic as well as to emphasize the importance of Forensic chemistry and digital forensics to bring guilty to justice in the modern technological world.
