Formulation and Characterization of Microspheres Based Formulation of Dabigatran

ABSTRACT Mucoadhesive microspheres of dabigatran etexilate were formulated enhanced release and bioavailability properties with less inter and intra-subject variability would be desirable. Different types of chitosan mucoadhesive microsphere containing Dabigatran etexilate (DM-1 to DM-6) were prepared using different concentration of chitosan solutions (1.0 to 1.5% (w/v)) by ionic gelation technique. Dabigatran etexilate loaded microspheres were prepared and percentage yield was found as (89.25 ± 1.12) % to (95.43 ± 1.02) %.
